If you are ever in the southern Hebrides, it will be well worth your effort to visit the island of Oronsay and its ecclesiastic ruins. To get there, you will most likely stay and travel from lodgings in Colonsay. You will need to plan your visit with the following details in mind: the time of your visit must correspond with the most beneficial tides because you have to cross a tidal strand around one mile wide at low tide usually on foot, walk to the priory which is at least another mile...
